If there’s anything that the pandemic has given us, it’s a little too much time on our own.
We had to get used to not going out. No more swimming pools. No more cinema outings. No hanging out by the cinema stairs in front of the ETA game station … (or was that just me?)
Since then, we’ve started to look towards mobile games more than usual for our entertainment needs.
In today’s article, we’d like to share with you our top 5 FREE mobile game recommendations for you and your friends.
1. Draw Something
Available on: Web browsers, App Store, Google Play Store
First on our list, we have Draw Something, a fun drawing game for up to four players.
One player is given something to draw within a limited amount of time. The rest of the players are given a jumbled set of random letters where they have to guess what the person is drawing. Points are given to whoever gets it right the fastest and most accurate. You can choose from a variety of genres of sports, games, comics, movies, superheroes and many more!
It’s the perfect game to show off your artistic skills while also showing your friends how smart you are in pop-culture! It’s highly addictive and we now consider ourselves true modern-day Picassos!

2. Dead By Daylight Available on: App Store/ Google Play Store/ Steam (need to change to US store)
What happens when you put four random survivors and one crazed killer on the loose?
If you’ve ever watched those old classic horror thriller movies, Dead By Daylight is the perfect representation of that in a modern day game.
Initially released for the PC, it’s finally made its way to our handheld devices. This is a 4 vs 1 horror game where one person takes the role of a maniacal killer and the others play as survivors trying to escape the killer. Survivors must work together by distracting the killer and fixing a series of generators that opens up the doors to their escape.
Killers, on the other hand, are forced to hunt their preys down through a multitude of playable characters. Characters even include those from the movies, like Pyramid head from Silent Hill! It’s a game sure to raise the hairs on the back of your neck!

3. Codenames Online Available on: Web browsers
Moving onto a more casual puzzle-based game, Codenames Online is a free web browser game available to be played between two to eight players.
This game usually averages out at about 15 minutes per game. Just like the board game version, players are split into teams and a representative attempts to communicate with their teammates the target words Taboo-style. However simple, it’s a brilliant game that puts your vocabulary to the test!

4. SpyfallAvailable on: Web browsers
Coming on number 4 is Spyfall, a party game unlike any other. Deceptively simple too! Spyfall is played over several rounds where at the start of it, every player is given a card with the same location on it.
However, one player has the word “Spy” instead of a location. Players then start asking each other questions to try and deduce who’s the spy! The spy doesn’t know where he is, so he has to listen carefully. When it’s the spy’s turn to answer, he/she better create a good story!

So what are you waiting for? Time to sharpen your deceptive skills and become a true spy!
5. Among Us
Available on: Google Play Store, App Store
And the final entry in this list is Among Us! The hyped game that everyone is playing now! If you’ve not succumbed to the hype yet, now is as good a time as any to join the club!
Among Us is about a group of astronauts in a space station who have to complete their individual tasks.
However, there’s a twist! One or two or maybe even three of them are imposters set out to kill you! Your job is to figure out who among you is the imposter before they kill off every single one of you!
Just because we can now hang out with our friends IRL doesn’t mean we can’t still make the most of these highly addictive games with them!
